Ceramic soldering boards withstand temperature up to 2000°F. This model is 6x6" for a nice amount of space to work in, and has feet to keep the board raised slightly above the bench. The ceramic surface is a little colder to work on, in comparison to Solderite or charcoal, but that extra resistance helps when soldering small pieces like jump rings, or when fusing Argentium. Also, when melting solder, the ceramic boards resist overheating and melting solder into the surface, which can often plague beginners.
