This small ball peen hammer may weigh only 2 oz., but it's just the right size for making beautiful, brilliant planished texture on your metal. or for rolling over the rim of tubing to make great tube rivets.
The shallow peen end of the hammer is slightly rounded to recede the corners, making it easier to texture your metal without hitting the corners of the hammer. The steel is polished to a mirror finish so that each hammer blow burnishes and brightens your jewelry. The ball side is similarly polished and makes deeper planish marks with crisp ridges.
Finishing a hammer with a mirror finish is a traditional skill for any metalsmith. But we don't always have the time to do it! And once the hammer has been shaped and polished the first time, it's easier to keep it polished with a little maintenance work.
